Castle Vale Youth Council

Young people on a trip Castle Vale Youth Council is a group of young people aged 8-18 who want to make a difference in the area where they live. Youth Council is supported by CVCHA and CVCRS, and is funded through the Big Lottery Fund.

The young people who participate have the opportunity to influence decisions in Castle Vale, organise activities and projects for other young people and contribute to their local community. In the past the Youth Council have helped to organise community days, trips for young people and attended local residents meetings. Members of the youth council actively participate in the Community Forum which addresses issues relating to community safety and environmental issues, four members of the Youth Council helped with the recruitment of two new youth workers for CVCRS.

The Youth Council meets every Thursday at The Sanctuary at 5pm, young people have the opportunity to chair meetings, discuss local issues and make plans for the future. They recently did a presentation for older people in Castle Vale, they have provided a PDF version of this if you would like to read it
